Overview

What it is

A pharmaceutical-grade 2% lidocaine hydrochloride solution (20 mg/mL) with sodium chloride for osmolarity, pH-adjusted with sodium hydroxide. It is epinephrine-free.

How it works

Lidocaine is an amide local anaesthetic that reversibly blocks voltage-gated sodium channels in nerve membranes, interrupting the conduction of pain signals.

Where it fits

Used by clinicians for local infiltration and peripheral nerve blocks during aesthetic and minor procedures, and as an anaesthetic that can be added to filler reconstitution where the filler's IFU allows.

Safety first

Because it is a prescription medicine with real toxicity risks, dosing limits, aspiration and trained supervision are essential. It is not a cosmetic and not for lay use.

For practitioners
  1. Confirm there is no history of hypersensitivity to amide-type local anaesthetics before use.
  2. Use the lowest concentration and dose that achieves the required effect; never exceed 4.5 mg/kg or 300 mg without epinephrine.
  3. Aspirate before injecting to avoid inadvertent intravascular administration.
  4. Typical local infiltration uses ~1–3 mL per zone; facial nerve blocks ~0.5–1.5 mL per site (clinician's judgement).
  5. Have oxygen, resuscitation drugs and trained personnel available; watch for CNS and cardiovascular toxicity.
  6. Reduce dose in hepatic impairment; discard unused product from opened vials.
FAQ
Is this a drug or a cosmetic?

It is a prescription medicine — an amide local anaesthetic — not a cosmetic. It should only be purchased and used by licensed healthcare professionals.

How much lidocaine does it contain?

2% means 20 mg of lidocaine hydrochloride per millilitre. Each 20 mL vial therefore contains about 400 mg, and the box holds ten vials.

Does it contain epinephrine (adrenaline)?

No. This formulation is epinephrine-free, which preserves tissue volume during aesthetic work but also means the plain-lidocaine maximum dose applies.

What is the maximum safe dose?

For healthy adults without epinephrine, generally no more than 4.5 mg/kg and an absolute ceiling of about 300 mg (15 mL of the 2% solution) per administration.

Can it be added to dermal fillers?

Clinicians commonly add lidocaine to reconstitute or dilute collagen-stimulating fillers for comfort, where the filler's Instructions for Use permit it. Follow the filler IFU and aseptic technique.

How quickly does it work and how long does it last?

Onset is usually within 2–5 minutes, with anaesthesia lasting roughly 60–120 minutes depending on site and technique.

What are the main risks?

Inadvertent intravascular injection can cause systemic toxicity — central nervous system effects (tremor, seizures) and cardiovascular collapse. Aspiration, dose limits and trained supervision are essential; it is contraindicated in amide-anaesthetic allergy.

How is it stored and packaged?

Ten 20 mL Type-1 glass vials per box, stored at 15–30 °C away from light, not frozen, with a 36-month shelf life.

Regulatory & safety notice. Daihan Lidocaine HCl 2% is a prescription local anaesthetic for administration by, or on the order of, licensed healthcare professionals only. It carries dose-dependent CNS and cardiovascular toxicity risks and is contraindicated in amide-anaesthetic hypersensitivity. This page is informational and is not a substitute for the official prescribing information; follow all local regulations governing prescription medicines.

2 reviews for Daihan Lidocaine 2% 20ml*10

  1. Mike Rivera

Been tattooing for 8 years and finding a good numbing solution is tough. This stuff works wonders for long sessions. It lasts a solid hour or two before wearing off. Way better than the generic stuff I bought off Amazon last time. Just wish the glass vials were a bit thicker, broke one accidentally.

  2. Robert Garcia

I run a small practice and keep these as a backup for superficial local anesthesia. The 20ml volume per vial is very generous. It provides reliable and profound anesthesia. Honestly, it performs identically to the much more expensive domestic brands I usually source. Good shelf life on the batch I received, too.
