What it is

- Confirm there is no history of hypersensitivity to amide-type local anaesthetics before use.
- Use the lowest concentration and dose that achieves the required effect; never exceed 4.5 mg/kg or 300 mg without epinephrine.
- Aspirate before injecting to avoid inadvertent intravascular administration.
- Typical local infiltration uses ~1–3 mL per zone; facial nerve blocks ~0.5–1.5 mL per site (clinician's judgement).
- Have oxygen, resuscitation drugs and trained personnel available; watch for CNS and cardiovascular toxicity.

How much lidocaine does it contain?
2% means 20 mg of lidocaine hydrochloride per millilitre. Each 20 mL vial therefore contains about 400 mg, and the box holds ten vials.
Does it contain epinephrine (adrenaline)?
No. This formulation is epinephrine-free, which preserves tissue volume during aesthetic work but also means the plain-lidocaine maximum dose applies.
What is the maximum safe dose?
For healthy adults without epinephrine, generally no more than 4.5 mg/kg and an absolute ceiling of about 300 mg (15 mL of the 2% solution) per administration.
Can it be added to dermal fillers?
Clinicians commonly add lidocaine to reconstitute or dilute collagen-stimulating fillers for comfort, where the filler's Instructions for Use permit it. Follow the filler IFU and aseptic technique.
How quickly does it work and how long does it last?
Onset is usually within 2–5 minutes, with anaesthesia lasting roughly 60–120 minutes depending on site and technique.
What are the main risks?
