Frequently asked questions

Does it work without an occlusive dressing?
Yes — no dressing needed for standard facial procedures. The oil-free formula absorbs without occlusion. For thicker body skin, supervised occlusion can accelerate onset, but unsupervised occlusion at this concentration increases systemic absorption risk.
Why is it safe to use before filler injections?
Muchcaine Cream is non-vasoconstrictive — it does not affect blood vessel tone, so vascular landmarks remain visible and palpable during filler placement. Formulations containing epinephrine temporarily constrict vessels, which can obscure anatomy in high-risk zones like the nose and glabella.
How many applications does the 500 g jar provide?
At the recommended maximum of 0.5 g per adult per application, a 500 g jar yields approximately 1,000 standard applications — making it cost-effective for high-frequency clinic use.
Can it be used on lips or inside the mouth?
No. Mucosal tissue is an absolute contraindication. This cream is for external topical use on intact epidermis only. Application to mucous membranes significantly increases systemic lidocaine absorption and toxicity risk.
Why does onset time differ between face and body?
Facial skin is thinner and better vascularised, allowing lidocaine to reach sensory nerves faster (15–25 min). Body skin has a thicker dermis, requiring more time for the active ingredient to diffuse to the same depth (30–45 min).
