Meditoxin 200U by Medytox Inc. is the higher-unit-count single-vial format of Medytox’s botulinum toxin type A — 200 units of Clostridium botulinum (Hall A-hyper working strain) as lyophilized white powder for reconstitution. The 200-unit pack is positioned for multi-zone single-patient sessions or multi-patient shared-vial protocols where the clinic prefers a higher unit count per vial than the 100U format.
Why this product is different
The 200U vial provides twice the unit count of the standard 100U pack in a single vial, supporting multi-zone single-patient treatments or multi-patient sessions when shared-vial protocols are appropriate. Meditoxin 200U is produced from the same Hall A-hyper Clostridium botulinum working strain as Meditoxin 100U, using the same freeze-drying (lyophilization) manufacturing process. The only difference between the two is the unit count per vial. For high-volume practices treating multiple zones per patient or multiple patients per session, the 200U pack reduces vial handling per unit administered compared to using multiple 100U vials.
Mechanism of action
Botulinum toxin type A is a presynaptic neuromuscular blocker. Following injection into target muscle, the toxin’s heavy chain binds to specific receptors on motor nerve terminals; the light chain is internalised into the nerve cytoplasm, where it enzymatically cleaves SNAP-25 — a SNARE complex protein required for acetylcholine vesicle fusion at the neuromuscular junction. Without SNAP-25, acetylcholine release into the synaptic cleft is blocked, the motor nerve cannot signal the muscle fibre to contract, and the targeted muscle relaxes. New axon terminals eventually sprout and restore neuromuscular signalling, at which point clinical effect wanes.

Frequently asked questions
Meditoxin 200U is the 200-unit single-vial format of Medytox’s botulinum toxin type A. Each single-use vial contains 200 units of lyophilized white powder, reconstituted with 0.9% sterile saline before injection. Manufactured in the Republic of Korea by Medytox Inc.
Meditoxin 200U is manufactured by Medytox Inc. in the Republic of Korea. Medytox is one of the three largest botulinum toxin manufacturers in Korea (alongside Hugel and Daewoong).
Meditoxin 200U contains 200 units of botulinum toxin type A per vial; Meditoxin 100U contains 100 units. Both share the same active ingredient, Hall A-hyper working strain, freeze-drying process, and excipient profile. The choice between formats is a clinic-workflow decision based on per-session volume.
The Hall A-hyper strain is Medytox’s working strain of Clostridium botulinum, derived from the Hall A reference strain (one of the historical reference strains for botulinum toxin production globally), maintained in Medytox’s production seed bank.
Meditoxin 200U is freeze-dried (lyophilized). After freeze-drying, a visible white powder cake or thin layer remains in the vial. This is distinct from vacuum-dried botulinum toxins which can appear nearly empty in the vial.
Common aesthetic application zones include glabellar lines, forehead lines, lateral canthal lines (crow’s feet), masseter contouring, brow lift refinement, mentalis muscle, and platysma bands. The 200U pack is particularly suited for multi-zone single-patient treatments or shared-vial multi-patient protocols. Specific dosing per zone is determined by the treating practitioner.
Both are manufactured by Medytox. Meditoxin 200U is freeze-dried lyophilized powder requiring reconstitution; Innotox 100U is a ready-to-use liquid formulation. Meditoxin 200U has a higher per-vial unit count; Innotox 100U is liquid for clinic-workflow convenience.
Both are 200-unit Korean botulinum toxin type A vials from different manufacturers. Meditoxin 200U is manufactured by Medytox using the Hall A-hyper strain. Botulax 200U is manufactured by Hugel Pharma using the CBFC26 strain. Both are freeze-dried.
Onset and duration vary with individual anatomy, muscle mass, metabolism, treatment zone, and dosing strategy. Practitioners can refer to published clinical literature for general expectations specific to their indication.
Store unopened vials at 2–8 °C, protected from light. Do not freeze. After reconstitution with 0.9% sterile saline, the solution is typically used within 24 hours when stored refrigerated.
