Toxta 200U by JETEMA Co., Ltd. is the higher-unit-count single-vial format of JETEMA’s Toxta botulinum toxin type A — 200 units of Clostridium botulinum as vacuum-dried product for reconstitution. JETEMA is a KOSDAQ-listed Korean biopharmaceutical company. The 200-unit pack is positioned for multi-zone single-patient sessions or multi-patient shared-vial protocols where the clinic prefers a higher unit count per vial than the 100U format.

Vial appearance

This product is vacuum-dried. The vial may appear nearly empty before reconstitution — this is normal product appearance, not a defect. The full dose is present and dissolves into a clear, colourless solution when reconstituted with sterile saline.

Why this product is different

Toxta 200U doubles the unit count per vial compared with Toxta 100U, supporting multi-zone single-patient treatments or multi-patient shared-vial protocols. The active ingredient, JETEMA proprietary working strain, vacuum-drying manufacturing process, and excipient profile are equivalent to Toxta 100U — the only difference is unit count per vial. Because Toxta is vacuum-dried, the 200U vial may appear nearly empty before reconstitution — this is normal product appearance.

Mechanism of action

Botulinum toxin type A is a presynaptic neuromuscular blocker. Following injection into target muscle, the toxin’s heavy chain binds to specific receptors on motor nerve terminals; the light chain is internalised into the nerve cytoplasm, where it enzymatically cleaves SNAP-25 — a SNARE complex protein required for acetylcholine vesicle fusion at the neuromuscular junction. Without SNAP-25, acetylcholine release into the synaptic cleft is blocked, the motor nerve cannot signal the muscle fibre to contract, and the targeted muscle relaxes. New axon terminals eventually sprout and restore neuromuscular signalling, at which point clinical effect wanes.

Frequently asked questions

What is Toxta 200U?

Toxta 200U is the 200-unit single-vial format of JETEMA’s vacuum-dried botulinum toxin type A. Each single-use vial contains 200 units of botulinum toxin type A, reconstituted with 0.9% sterile saline before injection.

Who manufactures Toxta 200U?

Toxta 200U is manufactured by JETEMA Co., Ltd., a KOSDAQ-listed Korean biopharmaceutical company that operates its own dedicated botulinum toxin production facility.

Why does the Toxta 200U vial look empty?

Toxta 200U uses vacuum-drying as the manufacturing process. Vacuum-drying produces a much thinner product layer than freeze-drying — the vial may appear nearly empty or have only a faint dried film. This is normal product appearance, not a defect. The full 200 units of botulinum toxin type A are present and dissolve when reconstituted with sterile saline.

How is Toxta 200U different from Toxta 100U?

Toxta 200U contains 200 units of botulinum toxin type A per vial; Toxta 100U contains 100 units. Both share the same active ingredient, JETEMA proprietary working strain, vacuum-drying process, and excipient profile.

How is Toxta 200U different from Kaimax 200U?

Both Toxta 200U and Kaimax 200U are manufactured by JETEMA Co., Ltd. using the same production platform and same proprietary working strain. They are sister products with different brand positioning. The active ingredient, vacuum-drying process, and excipient profile are equivalent.

What is Toxta 200U commonly used for?

Common aesthetic application zones include glabellar lines, forehead lines, lateral canthal lines, masseter contouring, mentalis muscle, and platysma bands. The 200U pack is particularly suited for multi-zone single-patient treatments or shared-vial multi-patient protocols.

How is Toxta 200U different from Botulax 200U?

Both are 200-unit Korean botulinum toxin type A products. Toxta is manufactured by JETEMA using vacuum-drying. Botulax is manufactured by Hugel Pharma using freeze-drying with Hugel’s proprietary working strain.

How is Toxta 200U different from Nabota 200U?

Both are 200-unit vacuum-dried Korean botulinum toxin type A products. Toxta is manufactured by JETEMA. Nabota is manufactured by Daewoong Pharmaceutical.

How long does Toxta 200U last?

Onset and duration vary with individual anatomy, muscle mass, metabolism, treatment zone, and dosing strategy. Practitioners can refer to published clinical literature for general expectations.

What are the storage requirements?

Store unopened vials at 2–8 °C, protected from light. Do not freeze. After reconstitution with 0.9% sterile saline, use within 24 hours when stored refrigerated.
