JETEMA Co., Ltd. · Republic of Korea
Kaimax 100U by JETEMA Co., Ltd. is a vacuum-dried botulinum toxin type A. Each single-use vial contains 100 units of Clostridium botulinum (JETEMA proprietary working strain). Kaimax and Toxta are sister products from JETEMA’s botulinum toxin production platform, sharing the same working strain and vacuum-drying manufacturing process. The 100-unit single-vial format is the most common pack size for individual aesthetic sessions.
This product is vacuum-dried. The vial may appear nearly empty before reconstitution — this is normal product appearance, not a defect. The full dose is present and dissolves into a clear, colourless solution when reconstituted with sterile saline.
Why this product is different
Kaimax is one of JETEMA Co., Ltd.’s botulinum toxin brands, alongside sister product Toxta. JETEMA is a KOSDAQ-listed Korean biopharmaceutical company that operates a dedicated botulinum toxin production line with a proprietary working strain of Clostridium botulinum. Kaimax is positioned to provide an alternative brand identity in markets where Toxta has different distribution arrangements. The vacuum-drying manufacturing process produces a thinner, less-visible product layer in the vial than freeze-drying — the vial may appear nearly empty, which is normal product appearance.
Mechanism of action
Botulinum toxin type A is a presynaptic neuromuscular blocker. Following injection into target muscle, the toxin’s heavy chain binds to specific receptors on motor nerve terminals; the light chain is internalised into the nerve cytoplasm, where it enzymatically cleaves SNAP-25 — a SNARE complex protein required for acetylcholine vesicle fusion at the neuromuscular junction. Without SNAP-25, acetylcholine release into the synaptic cleft is blocked, the motor nerve cannot signal the muscle fibre to contract, and the targeted muscle relaxes. New axon terminals eventually sprout and restore neuromuscular signalling, at which point clinical effect wanes.

Frequently asked questions
Kaimax 100U is a vacuum-dried Korean botulinum toxin type A manufactured by JETEMA Co., Ltd. Each single-use vial contains 100 units of botulinum toxin type A, reconstituted with 0.9% sterile saline before injection.
Kaimax is manufactured by JETEMA Co., Ltd., a KOSDAQ-listed Korean biopharmaceutical company. JETEMA also produces sister brand Toxta from the same production platform.
Kaimax uses vacuum-drying as the manufacturing process. Vacuum-drying produces a much thinner product layer than freeze-drying — the vial may appear nearly empty or have only a faint dried film, which is normal and not a defect. The full 100 units of botulinum toxin type A are present and dissolve when reconstituted with sterile saline.
Both Kaimax and Toxta are manufactured by JETEMA Co., Ltd. using the same production platform and same proprietary working strain. They are sister products with different brand positioning. The active ingredient, vacuum-drying process, and excipient profile are equivalent.
Common aesthetic application zones include glabellar lines, forehead lines, lateral canthal lines, masseter contouring, brow lift refinement, mentalis muscle, and platysma bands. Specific dosing per zone is determined by the treating practitioner.
Kaimax 100U is the single-vial single-patient pack. Kaimax 200U is a higher-unit-count vial suited for multi-patient sessions or larger treatment areas. Both share the same JETEMA proprietary working strain and vacuum-drying process.
Both are Korean botulinum toxin type A products from different manufacturers using different manufacturing processes. Kaimax is manufactured by JETEMA using vacuum-drying. Botulax is manufactured by Hugel Pharma using freeze-drying with Hugel’s proprietary working strain.
Both are vacuum-dried Korean botulinum toxin type A products from different manufacturers. Kaimax is manufactured by JETEMA. Nabota is manufactured by Daewoong Pharmaceutical.
Onset and duration vary with individual anatomy, muscle mass, metabolism, treatment zone, and dosing strategy. Practitioners can refer to published clinical literature for general expectations.
Store unopened vials at 2–8 °C, protected from light. Do not freeze. After reconstitution with 0.9% sterile saline, use within 24 hours when stored refrigerated.
