Nabota 100U by Daewoong Pharmaceutical is a Korean botulinum toxin type A manufactured using Daewoong’s Hi-Pure™ Technology with vacuum-drying. Each single-vial pack contains 100 units of wild-type C. botulinum strain. The vacuum-drying process can leave the vial appearing nearly empty — this is normal product appearance. The 100-unit format is the most common pack for single-patient aesthetic sessions.

Vial appearance

This product is vacuum-dried. The vial may appear nearly empty before reconstitution — this is normal product appearance, not a defect. The full dose is present and dissolves into a clear, colourless solution when reconstituted with sterile saline.

Why this product is different

Nabota is manufactured by Daewoong Pharmaceutical using the proprietary Hi-Pure™ Technology and vacuum-drying process. The vacuum-drying process produces a thinner, less-visible product layer in the vial compared with freeze-drying — the vial may appear nearly empty, which is normal. Daewoong’s strain is wild-type C. botulinum, distinct from Hugel’s CBFC26 lineage.

Mechanism of action

Botulinum toxin type A blocks acetylcholine release at the neuromuscular junction by cleaving SNAP-25, a SNARE complex protein essential for vesicle fusion at the motor nerve terminal. The targeted muscle receives no contraction signal and relaxes. Clinical effect wanes as new axon terminals sprout and restore neuromuscular signalling.

Frequently asked questions

What is Nabota 100U?

Nabota 100U is a Korean botulinum toxin type A manufactured by Daewoong Pharmaceutical. Each single-use vial contains 100 units of botulinum toxin type A produced using Daewoong’s Hi-Pure™ Technology with vacuum-drying. The product is reconstituted with 0.9% sterile saline before injection.

Why does the Nabota vial look empty?

Nabota is manufactured using vacuum-drying — a process that produces a very thin, sometimes nearly invisible product layer in the vial. This is a normal product appearance for vacuum-dried botulinum toxin. The full 100-unit dose is present in the vial; it dissolves into a clear, colourless solution when reconstituted with sterile saline. The vacuum-drying process is distinct from freeze-drying, which leaves a visible white powder cake.

Who manufactures Nabota?

Nabota is manufactured by Daewoong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., a Korean pharmaceutical company. Daewoong produces Nabota at its Korean manufacturing facility using its patented Hi-Pure™ Technology and vacuum-drying process.

What strain is Nabota?

Nabota is produced from a wild-type Clostridium botulinum strain — distinct from Hugel Pharma’s proprietary CBFC26 strain used in Botulax. The wild-type lineage is documented in Daewoong’s regulatory filings and published clinical literature.

What is Hi-Pure™ Technology?

Hi-Pure™ is Daewoong’s patented manufacturing process combining proprietary purification steps with vacuum-drying to control product appearance and stability. The vacuum-drying step is the visible difference from freeze-drying — producing a thin product layer rather than a powder cake.

How is Nabota 100U different from Botulax 100U?

Both are Korean 100U botulinum toxin type A products but from different manufacturers using different processes. Nabota (Daewoong) uses vacuum-drying with a wild-type strain. Botulax (Hugel) uses freeze-drying with the proprietary CBFC26 strain. Practitioners select between them based on clinical experience and preference.

Is Nabota the same product as Jeuveau in the US?

Both Nabota and Jeuveau derive from Daewoong’s botulinum toxin platform. Jeuveau is the US-marketed brand name with Evolus as the US distribution partner. Packaging, labelling, and regulatory status differ by jurisdiction. The product on Fillersfairy is the Korean-market Nabota, not the US-labelled Jeuveau.

Where is Nabota 100U commonly applied?

Common aesthetic application zones include glabellar lines, forehead lines, lateral canthal lines (crow’s feet), masseter contouring, brow lift refinement, mentalis muscle, and platysma bands. Therapeutic uses include hyperhidrosis. Specific dosing per zone is determined by the treating practitioner.

What are the storage requirements?

Store unopened vials at 2–8 °C, protected from light. Do not freeze. After reconstitution with 0.9% sterile saline, the solution is typically used within 24 hours when stored refrigerated. Discard any unused reconstituted product per institutional protocol.

Does Nabota require cold-chain shipping?

Yes. Botulinum toxin type A products require continuous cold-chain (2–8 °C) from manufacturer to point of clinical use. Fillersfairy ships botulinum toxin products with cold-chain packaging containing refrigerants to maintain temperature during transit.
