UNDERSTANDING DERMAL FILLERS

Fine, Deep or Volume:
what are they used for?

Many hyaluronic acid filler ranges offer softer, more flexible gels, options for facial folds, and more supportive gels for volume and contour. Fine, Deep and Volume are common names for these options, although names and uses vary between brands.

01

Fine / Soft

Softer, more flexible gels

Fine lines & delicate correction

These options commonly soften fine facial lines, including lines around the mouth. Some are also intended for lip definition or fullness, but a Fine or Soft name alone does not establish suitability for the lips.

02

Deep

More support for facial folds

Nasolabial folds & lines below the mouth corners

Deep models commonly address more noticeable folds beside the nose and mouth, and marionette lines extending down from the mouth corners. Some Deep products are also intended for the lips.

03

Volume

Volume & contour support

Cheeks, chin & jawline

More supportive gels are commonly used to restore facial volume or define contours. Depending on the product, these may be called Volume, Strong or Sub-Q.

BEFORE YOU CHOOSE

Your filler
questions, answered.

A few practical differences worth checking before comparing products.

Can a Deep filler be used in the lips?

Some Deep fillers are intended for lip enhancement, so Fine or Soft is not the only possible option. Check the exact product’s authorized uses: a model name alone cannot tell you whether it is suitable for the lips.

How long do hyaluronic acid fillers last?

Results commonly last around 6–18 months, while some volumizing formulations can last longer. Duration varies with the product, treatment area and individual response. Use the specific product’s evidence as a guide, rather than treating one time range as a guarantee for every filler.

What is the difference between a filler and a skin booster?

Dermal fillers generally add volume, define contours or soften folds. Skin boosters generally focus on hydration and skin quality. Both categories can contain hyaluronic acid, but they serve different purposes and are not interchangeable simply because they share that ingredient.

Do two fillers with the same HA concentration work the same way?

No. For example, two fillers labeled 24 mg/mL can have different flexibility, support and intended uses. Crosslinking and the overall formulation matter too; a higher HA concentration does not automatically mean a better result.

Does one box always contain one syringe?

No. Compare both the number of syringes and the volume in each syringe. A box labeled 2 × 1.1 mL contains twice the gel volume of 1 × 1.1 mL. Check the exact product version and pack size when comparing prices.
